Our products are handcrafted with the utmost care and respect by makers who are masters at their craft. Here we suggest a few precautions by material to maintain the original condition of your ALMA products.

Palm

Tlamacazapa, Guerrero.

All of our palm accessories are designed and produced in collaboration with the Fermín Procopio family of weavers. The palm is foraged in the nearby mountains and the majority of our dyes are sourced from food grade ingredients. Variations in color, shape and technique render each piece unique. 

If you decide to dispose of one of our palm pieces we encourage you to remove and recycle all metal wares and textile labels. The remaining palm can be treated as organic waste: compost it so its nutrients return to the biosphere.

Avoid

• Exposure to intense sunlight as the bright tones may lighten and reveal subtle hues.

• Exposure to oils, perfume, alcohol or cosmetics and other harsh chemicals. If any of these occurs wipe with a damp clean cloth.

• Dry-cleaning and washing machine as they may tear the palm apart.

Consider

• Checking the weather forecast to protect it on rainy days.

• Using a steam iron on low heat over a clean cloth on your palm piece to press into shape.

• Not over-filling your bag so it can conserve its original shape.

• Storing it occasionally in its dust cover filled with crumpled paper inside to maintain its original shape.
